Tombs are the most numerous structures of the Islamic era in Torbat-Jam city, which were built to honor great Sufis such as Sheikh Ahmad Jami. These monuments have similarities and differences which can be categorized. From the Morphologically, these buildings are built in two forms, open (hazireh) and closed (domed), and they do not have the two important features of Iranian tombs, i.e. central focus and spatial originality. In addition, the space syntax of these tombs also has unique features that have received less attention. In open tombs, the grave of the deceased is placed in an open space and a series of buildings centered around the monastery have been created around the grave, while in closed mausoleums, the grave of the deceased is located inside the eastern porch of a Chartaqi, which is actually the monastery of the deceased. Another important point is that both types are closely related to monasteries and the graves of the deceased are placed next to or inside them. Therefore, in this research, according to the historical and architectural evidence, similar structures should be identified and classified first, and then the factors affecting the formation of these styles should be analyzed. . . .
